Experiencing art exhibition with a baby
Babies and families with babies are always welcome to Seinäjoki Art Hall’s exhibitions. The exhibition premises are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of Kalevan Navetta, which can be reached by elevator. There is barrier-free access to the exhibition premises and you can take strollers/prams to the exhibitions. The childcare room is located on the 1st floor next to the info desk.
During a visit to the exhibition, you may choose to examine just the works that your baby is interested in. Babies are often interested in contrasts, lights, shadows and shapes, as well as people. The exhibition spaces can be dark, and often include different sounds which can seem exciting to a child. Please, feel free to describe to your child, in your own words, what you see and experience in the exhibition.
Children’s sounds are allowed in the exhibition space: they are part of life. So you don’t have to worry about keeping quiet at the art exhibition.
However, please do remember that you must not touch the artworks. If there are objects in the exhibition you are allowed to touch, the objects will always be specifically indicated.
