Kalevan Navetta
free entry
Art and Culture centre Kalevan Navetta’s Muu-Mau Kitty invites children and families with children to spend a free autumn day full of art, culture and hands-on activities on Saturday 24 September from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The programme includes art and handicraft workshops organised by in-house operators and the Children and Youth Foundation, as well as other activities suitable for the whole family. The workshops will take place both on a non-stop basis and at specific times. When hunger strikes, the Äärellä restaurant serves a delicious brunch suitable for the whole family.
The GarageBand workshop at the Louhimo Children’s Cultural Centre will allow you to make music on a tablet with the help of an instructor. The handicraft workshop at the Näppi School of Crafts and Design will allow you to design and make your own pop-up doll together with a parent. The workshops at the Children and Youth Foundation will allow you to try your hand at writing lyrics and rapping. The Children and Youth Foundation’s Say Better World exhibition is on display in the Kammio music room. In Pedatila Itikka, you can visit the exhibition of summer artist Olivia Viitakangas from the Kunsthalle Seinäjoki. A joint workshop with Louhimo Children’s Cultural Centre and Kunsthalle Seinäjoki will take you on an imaginary journey into the future with circus tools. Kunsthalle Seinäjoki has a free day, which means Halli and Vinti’s exhibitions are open to the public. In addition, there is a pop-up exhibition by a summer visual artist in the peda space. The Louhimo’s and Kunstahalle’s sound workshop will introduce you to the meditative Välitila work in the Vintti upstairs, as well as sound bowls and koshi.
