New art curator and producer for public programmes in the Kunsthalle Seinäjoki

Staff changes in the City of Seinäjoki’s cultural services

Art Curator

Elina Teitti, MA, was selected as the art curator of Kunsthalle Seinäjoki from 10.2.2025. Elina Teitti (b.1989) is the art curator at the Kunsthalle Seinäjoki, Finland. She is highly experienced in art education, audience development and socio-cultural work. In her curatorial work she is interested in intersectionality, social and cultural structures and our complex relationship with our surroundings. With the Kunsthalle team she explores the interface of urban and rural spheres and intersections between contemporary art practices and the rural, with both local and global perspectives.

Elina Teitti is on leave from 17.3.2025 onwards and her replacement is Laura Laukkanen, FM.
Laukkanen has worked in national art associations and as an artist in visual arts. As a curator, she is inspired by working towards regional equality, artist collectives and communities and artistic research and methods dealing with difficult historical issues. The Kunsthalle Seinäjoki art curator is responsible for the management of the Kunsthalle and the promotion of visual arts in the city. In addition, the curator will be responsible for

Producer for Public Programmes

Ruu Kumpulainen, MA., was appointed as the producer for public programmes of the Kunsthalle Seinäjoki from 10.3.2025. The producer for public programmes is responsible for the pedagogical planning and side event programme of the Kunsthalle’s exhibitions, communications, cooperation with educational institutions and social services, and customer service.
